Abs

This is a 30 minute class of hardcore abdominal work. It focuses on toning and defining the abs and strengthening the back to improve posture and core strength. Exercises are performed lying on the floor.

Aero Fit

Aero Fit is a very motivating class including many choreographed sequences of aerobic movements designed not only to target improvements in your fitness and stamina but to burn some serious calories. Your instructor will drive you to your highest potential in this fun packed, highly enjoyable workout, lifting your energy to another level.

Aero Fit classes cater for a large range of fitness abilities although is probably best suited to those that desire a faster pace.
This class is great for people who like to exercise with others, who like to dance, who like music and rhythm, who want the extra motivation and energy that an instructor and class provides.

Aqua

The Aqua fitness program that Celtic Leisure follow is based on health and skill related components of fitness including muscular endurance, cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, co-ordination, power and improvements in body composition. A range of exercises are conducted in several depths of water with a different levels of speed, co-ordination and ranges/direction of movement. Aqua Fitness is also largely based upon “functional exercises” encouraging movements that are found in every day life, eg climbing stairs, running, cycling, jumping and changing of direction while in motion. On occasion, some Aqua Fitness classes can contain corrective exercises to improve posture and muscle imbalances.

In addition to the standard benefits of any exercise, the use of aerobic type exercises in water provides support for the body and reduces the risk of muscle or joint injury. The mitigation of gravity by buoyancy/flotation places less stress on the joints when training and stretching, and can allow a greater range of motion through the joints. Exercise in water can also prevent overheating through continuous cooling of the body and you do not even have to be a strong swimmer to participate in water aerobics.

Very light hand weights are often included in this water work out to assist in the toning of the upper body and arms.

Body Pump / Virtual Body Pump

BODYPUMP™ is for anyone looking to get lean and toned.

The original barbel class. Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout. It will burn up to 590 calories*. Instructors will coach you through the scientifically proven moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music – helping you achieve much more than on your own! You’ll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more.

Boot Camp

Boot Camp class training includes dynamic stretching and running, followed by a wide variety of interval training, including lifting weights/objects, pulling, pushing, push-ups/ sit-ups, plyometric training, and various types of intense explosive routines and are often based on the military style of training.

Boot Camp team work encourages high levels of fat loss, camaraderie, and team effort, aimed at pushing people a little bit further than they would normally push themselves in the gym. Be ready to be your best!

Box Fit

Box Fit is a High intensity boxing class which targets your peak cardiovascular fitness. This in turn will not only take your stamina through the roof, but it will also assist in decreasing body fat.

Your Instructor will encourage you work to your limit, which can, once achieved, put your body into a fat burning state for up to 12 hours post session.

The class starts with a dynamic warm up and the correct instruction of punches, followed by circuit stations with 3 to 4 rounds of boxing exercises.

The class finishes with a 15 min cool down which includes static stretching to remove any potential lactic acid and discomfort.

Circuit Sculpt

A total body workout combining core, cardio and strength to tone and sculpt your body.  A set number of stations set up with various exercises to be completed for an allotted time with rest periods in between.

Dance Fit

In a Dance Fit class you can expect a mix of Cardio Fitness and Toning exercises which are pre-choreographed to 80’s music but easy to follow and delivered at a controlled pace.

This class is ideal for those who desire the fat burning benefits of aerobics whilst building the fitness foundation they desire.

Dance Fit classes cater for the beginner, intermediate, and advanced. You simply choose the level that suits you.

Fit For Life

Fit for Life is a lighter approach to a very basic functional Circuits class, structured to improve all components of fitness, pitched perfectly as an introduction to exercise at a very controlled pace. No experience necessary.

Fitball

Fit ball exercises help strengthen the core muscles: abs, hips, lower back and, in some exercises, the thighs. Exercise balls are an ideal way to give your body a full makeover, for improving your strength and flexibility and to make you feel good all over. Doing abdominal exercises on a fit Ball is particularly effective.
An all round fitness tool, an exercise ball adds fun and variety to your workout. Fit ball exercise is suitable for all levels of fitness; working core muscles and improving balance.

Indoor Cycling

An indoor cycling class involves a single instructor at the front of the class who leads the participants through routines that are designed to simulate terrain and situations similar to riding a bike outdoors. Some of the movements and positions include hill climbs, sprints and interval training. Your instructor will use music, motivation, visualization and enthusiastic coaching to lead students through a ride that best suits their fitness level and goals.

One of the major advantages of indoor cycling is that each participant can exactly control his/her level of intensity to suit ability or fitness level but still remain as a group together. Theses type of classes can therefore be heterogeneous.

Besides burning between 400-500 kcal in 40 minutes, indoor cycling also strengthens the muscles of the lower body. It tones the quadriceps and hamstrings, along with working the back and hips. It can be difficult to stay at the moderate level in a class that is geared towards more intensity.

Junior Circuits

Kettle Bells

Kettle bells offer a different kind of training using dynamic moves targeting almost every aspect of fitness – endurance, strength, balance, agility and cardio endurance. Kettle Hiit Fit

Kettle Hiit Fit is a high intensity workout split into 4 minute rounds. The exercises include Kettle Bell exercises.

The various exercises that are performed are aimed at high intensity for 20 seconds with 10 second rest periods in between.

Tuesday Body Tone

Tuesday Body Tone is a circuit based workout which incorporates all major muscle groups. Every Major Muscle group gets worked from a different functional angle to achieve an athletically lean look.

This class includes a warm up of 10 minutes, followed by a thorough exercise introduction, which leads into 3 to 4 rounds of functional fitness stations. By the time you cool down and stretch the class duration will be 60 minutes..
